Im Süden

„I am so stiff and cannot even move my arms any more“, said B after sunbathing on the beach all day. „Oh, be careful,“ murmured F with wariness. „You can get a bad sun burn. I become all blue myself in the summertime; you know, blue like the sky or the ocean.“

„What? Blue? How strange!“ interrupted S, shaking her head and kept on. „On the beach, I turn into all different marvellous colours like pink, yellow, purple, orange and so on.“ Looking at astonished B and F, S continued proudly. „And if I then swim between the waves, I will even get more colours.“

"But you are not the only one who can change colours," protested a voice from the corner. Now, all the three turned to A, who felt obliged to explain. "Well, first of all, how I change my colours is not the same as your way. It is not a secret, but rather complicated to understand, you see. I do that together with my friends."

B, F and S were curious to hear more. "Why don't you come out and join us?" They proposed impatiently. A hesitated for a moment, and then responded reluctantly. "Well, it is kind of you, but you cannot really see me on the beach... I mean, if I leave my house and sit next to you, I will soon become invisible."

"What? You can be invisible, too?", uttered J toward A, and then turned to B, F and S. "A friend of mine is also invisible, but I make him visible by touching him. He doesn't turn red, though. He always become brown and is very sweet."

There are tall trees and small flowers by the beach; a soft breeze keeps pushing little waves over the wet sand; at the far end of the ocean, the sky seems to begin; and up above, much higher than the birds or clouds can fly, the bright sun is shining. It is summer, and it is warm here in the south. Very warm.
